"Faces You Might Know"

FACES YOU MIGHT KNOW
Celebrating the Freedom of the Portrait Genre
with Vadim Bora
December 1-14, 2008
Hours: noon-6 p.m., Tuesdays-Saturdays
Open House: Saturdays

Vadim Bora Gallery & Studio will be presenting some 200 portraits in the form of sculptures, paintings, drawings, caricatures and sketches, created in a variety of media and in the virtuoso stylings that is typically Bora: "...True freedom is capturing what the subject gives you in a subconscious way to materialize his or her spirit on the flat surface."

Some of the pieces stem from Bora's archives, recently returned from Russia, while others are still wet, just off the easel. Whether a few whispering lines that capture a person's character, luscious studied oils, or stately bronzes, Bora's portraits convey the essence of universal humanity, caught in one moment of time.
